The Toronto Blue Jays post a 15-10 record which leads the Grapefruit League. They are coming off a 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays yesterday. Today they face the Philadelphia Phillies. Jose Berrios will make his final spring training start. He will take the ball on Opening Day. Berrios is 1-0 with a 2.35 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts in 15.1 innings through four starts this spring. Yesterday they optioned pitchers Jake Bloss and Josh Walker to Triple-A Buffalo. After the game, they optioned seven more players to Buffalo.

LHP – Mason Fluharty
Fluharty this spring in seven games posted a 1.50 ERA, a 0.83 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in six innings. Last season at Buffalo he appeared in 56 games going 5-4 with a 3.63 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP, and 76 strikeouts in 67 innings.
RHP – Kevin Gowdy
Gowdy this spring in seven appearances posted a 5.68 ERA, a 1.58 WHIP, and had two strikeouts in 6.1 innings. Last season he spent time in the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers organizations. With the Dodgers, he pitched at Double-A and Triple-A appearing in 73 games with one of those coming as a start. Gowdy went 4-3 with a 4.62 ERA, a 1.51 WHIP, and 86 strikeouts in 89.2 innings. With Texas, he pitched at Double-A appearing in 32 games with three of those coming as starts. He went 2-3 with a 9.90 ERA, a 2.08 WHIP, and 33 strikeouts in 40 innings.
RHP – Hayden Juenger
Juenger appeared in five games this spring going 0-1 with an 8.31 ERA, a 1.85 WHIP, and four strikeouts in 4.1 innings. Last season at Buffalo he appeared in 54 games going 3-4 with a 4.19 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and 64 strikeouts in 68.2 innings.
C – Matt Whatley
Whatley in eight games this spring hit .273 with a .930 OPS. He had a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. He played for Triple-A Round Rock in the Rangers organization last season. In 50 games he hit .199 with a .614 OPS. Whatley had two doubles, five home runs, 15 RBI, and 14 runs scored.

OF – Jonatan Clase
Clase this spring played in eight games hitting .071 with a .330 OPS. He had a double, a run scored, and two stolen bases. Clase spent last season with the Seattle Mariners and Blue Jays. He played in 59 games with the Mariners Triple-A affiliate hitting .274 with a .856 OPS. Clase had 11 doubles, four triples, ten home runs, 34 RBI, 47 runs scored, and 26 stolen bases. In 19 games with Seattle, he hit .195 with a .452 OPS. Clase had one double, three RBI, four runs scored, and three stolen bases.
In Triple-A Buffalo he played in 35 games hitting .244 with a .651 OPS. Clase had ten doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, 19 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases. He would play in seven games with Toronto hitting .350 with a .985 OPS. Clase had a double, a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored.
INF – Orelvis Martinez
Martinez this spring in 14 games hit .333 with a .907 OPS. He had a double, a home run, three RBI, and four runs scored. Martinez played in 74 games with Triple-A Buffalo hitting .267 with a .869 OPS. Martinez had 19 doubles, a triple, 17 home runs, 49 RBI, and 54 runs scored. He played in one game with Toronto going 1-3. He was suspended for 80 games after he tested positive for PEDs.
RHP – Dillon Tate
Tate didn’t make an appearance this spring. Last season pitched for the Baltimore Orioles and Blue Jays. He pitched at Triple-A Norfolk for Baltimore making 16 appearances posting a 2.16 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts in 16.2 innings. In 29 appearances with Baltimore, he went 2-1 with a .459 ERA, a 1.41 WHIP, and had 23 strikeouts in 33.1 innings. He pitched at Buffalo making five appearances posting a 1.80 ERA, a 0.40 WHIP, and five strikeouts in five innings. Tate would make four appearances with Toronto posting a 5.40 ERA, a 2.10 WHIP, and four strikeouts in 3.1 innings.
