The Detroit Tigers Double-A affiliate the Erie Seawolves will play game two of the Eastern League Championship tonight, leading the series 1-0 following Sunday’s 9-5 win in game one. The Seawolves clinched a playoff spot following the first half of the season by going 38-29 and finished the season 77-58, they took care of business in the first round of the playoffs winning game one 3-0 on the road, in game two they lost 7-4 forcing a decisive game three and Erie won that one 2-1. Today it was announced that three players from the Seawolves were named All-Stars second baseman Hao-Yu Lee was named an All-Star, third baseman Gage Workman was named an All-Star, and RHP Jackson Jobe who was just called up to the big leagues was named an All-Star pitcher. Jobe is the only prospect ranked on the Top 100 by ITD and ranked tenth.
Hao-Yu Lee
Lee played in 87 games this season posting a slash line of .298/.363/.488 with a .851 OPS; he had 19 doubles, five triples, 12 home runs, 56 RBI, 55 runs scored, 33 walks, and 16 stolen bases. He finished tied for first in batting average, fourth in OPS, tied for sixth in triples, and tied for 17th in RBI.
Gage Workman
Workman in 126 games had a slash line of .280/.366/.476 with a .842 OPS; he had 29 doubles, six triples, 18 home runs, 89 RBI, 85 runs scored, 65 walks, and 30 stolen bases. He finished seventh in average, sixth in OPS, third in doubles, tied for second in triples, tied for third in home runs, first in RBI, second in runs scored, fourth in walks, and sixth in stolen bases.
Jackson Jobe
Jobe made 16 starts going 4-2 with a 1.95 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP, and 81 strikeouts in 73.2 innings. He didn’t pitch enough innings to qualify but his ERA was one of the best, as well as his WHIP.
