Texas Rangers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Texas Rangers start a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers tonight as they continue their road trip. The Rangers will have Patrick Corbin on the mound going up against Tarik Skubal for Detroit. They are 3-7 in their last ten games, averaging 3.7 runs per game while allowing 4.2 runs per game in that rough stretch. Ahead of tonight’s game, the Rangers selected the contract of outfielder Sam Haggerty from Triple-A Round Rock. To make room for Haggerty, they optioned outfielder Dustin Harris to Triple-A Round Rock. Haggerty in 22 games at Round Rock hit .313 with a .781 OPS. He had two doubles, a triple, a home run, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored, seven stolen bases, and nine walks. Harris in 16 games hit .200 with a .606 OPS. He had two doubles, a home run, an RBI, four runs scored, a stolen base, and three walks.

Sam Haggerty

Haggerty has played in 202 big league games, hitting .232 with a .663 OPS. He has 19 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, 40 RBI, 67 runs scored, 33 stolen bases, and 44 walks. He signed with Texas as a free agent in February. Last season in eight games with Seattle, he hit .067 with a .192 OPS. He had an RBI, a run scored, a stolen base, and a walk.

Dustin Harris

Harris last season appeared in two games with the Rangers, hitting .333 with a 1.429 OPS. He had a double, a home run, three RBI, a run scored, and a walk. In 131 games at Round Rock last season, he hit .272 with a .749 OPS. He had 22 doubles, three triples, ten home runs, 53 RBI, 81 runs scored, 35 stolen bases, and 61 walks.
