Texas Rangers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

Ahead of the series opener with the Atlanta Braves, the Texas Rangers announced that right-handed pitcher Jack Leiter was being optioned back down the AAA Round Rock while his colleague, right-handed pitcher Owen White, had been recalled from Round Rock.

By The Numbers

RHP Owen White

The Texas Rangers drafted Owen White in the second round of the 2018 Major League Amateur Draft. White made his Major League debut with the Rangers on June 13th, 2023, against the Los Angeles Angels. He pitched two innings, allowing four hits, one walk, three earned runs, and struck out two. During the 2024 season with AAA Round Rock, he had three starts for 12.1 innings of work. He allowed 17 hits, 11 runs, ten earned runs, one home run, seven walks, and 11 strikeouts. His Minor League career W/L record is 17-10 across 49 appearances, 45 of which have been starts, allowing 205 hits, 112 runs, 105 earned runs, 26 home runs, 97 walks, zero intentional walks, and 251 strikeouts across 236.2 innings.

RHP Jack Leiter

Jack Leiter debuted on April 18th, 2024, against the Detroit Tigers. The first three pitches of his Major League career were straight down-the-middle strikes to Riley Greene of the Tigers. He allowed one single, a walk, a flyout, and two strikeouts in his first inning. In the second inning, he gave up a leadoff walk, a double that scored the first run against him, and a groundout that scored the second. Greene took him for a triple that scored a third run, followed by a single that scored Greene. While the second was a rough inning, he settled and got a quick 1-2-3 third inning before sinking in the 4th when he allowed (with outfield assistance) a further three runs in the bottom of the 4th to tie the ballgame. In his MLB debut, he allowed eight hits, seven earned runs, and three walks and garnered three strikeouts across 3.2 innings of work. His current MLB ERA is 17.18.
