The Texas Rangers announced three roster moves today. Brock Burke has been moved to the injured list for a broken hand. Young rookie Justin Foscue’s oblique strain was far worse than initially believed, so he has been shifted to the 60-day injured list. Following those two moves, the Rangers have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Austin Pruitt from the Round Rock Express.
Brock Burke
After a disastrous outing from Brock Burke, it is reported that he returned to the clubhouse and punched a wall, resulting in a broken hand. Burke came out of the bullpen in the bottom of the 7th with a nine-run lead. He managed to strike out Jose Altuve, but he followed that with a hit to Yordan Alvarez and a home run by Kyle Tucker to cut the Rangers’ lead to seven. He left two men on for Grant Anderson to inherit. Texas went from a nine-run lead to a four-run lead in that single inning.
