Roddery Munoz – RHP
The Cardinals have optioned Roddery Munoz to Triple-A to start his year with the Memphis Red Birds. Munoz appeared in six games this spring for the Cardinals throwing a total of seven innings. He had one save, ten strikeouts, a 2.57 ERA, and a WHIP of 0.86. Last year Munoz appeared in 18 games for the Miami Marlins. He made 17 starts over 18 games earning two wins and taking seven losses. He finished last year with a 6.53 ERA for the Marlins.
Riley O’Brien – RHP
The Cardinals have optioned O’Brien to Triple-A where he will start his year with the Memphis Red Birds. He finished the spring throwing three innings over three games. He did not allow a run and struck out six. O’Brien pitched in eight games last year for the Cardinals with one save opportunity, 11 strikeouts, and an 11.25 ERA over eight innings of work.
Jawilme Ramirez – RHP
The Cardinals have assigned Ramirez to the roster today before their game with the Toronto Blue Jays. Last year, Ramirez pitched in three levels of the minors. Most of his appearances were between Single-A and Single-A+. He made one appearance in Triple-A for the Syracuse Mets. The Cardinals grabbed Ramirez as a Rule 5 draft this off-season from the New York Mets.
Angel Gonzalez – RHP
The Cardinals have assigned Gonzalez to the roster before today’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Gonzalez was part of the Chicago Cubs organization last year. He pitched all 33 games in Single-A+ for the South Bend Cubs. The Cardinals grabbed him as part of the Rule 5 Draft.
