The Rangers tied the game at two apiece in the bottom of the fifth inning. Leody Taveras homered on a fly ball to right center field to tie the game 2-2. The White Sox took the lead in the top of the ninth inning. Paul DeJong homered on a fly ball to left field to make it a 3-2 game. But the Rangers tied the game at three apiece in the bottom of the ninth inning to force extra innings. Jonah Heim singled on a ground ball to Luis Robert Jr. Wyatt Langford scored to tie the game 3-3. Nathaniel Lowe went to third base. The Rangers scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning. Wyatt Langford singled on a line drive to Andrew Benintendi. Travis Jankowski scored to make it a 4-3 game. Corey Seager went to third base, while Josh Smith went to second base.

Tuesday, July 23

The Rangers survived a late scare to beat the White Sox 3-2 on Tuesday night. Texas improved to 49-52, while Chicago fell to 27-76. Rangers starting pitcher Jon Gray pitched 7 2/3 innings and gave up four hits, one earned run, and five strikeouts. Meanwhile, White Sox starting pitcher Garrett Crochet pitched just four innings and gave up four hits, two earned runs, two walks, and seven strikeouts. The Rangers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Adolis Garcia singled on a line drive to Gavin Sheets. Robbie Grossman scored for a 1-0 lead. Josh Smith went to third base. Garcia stole second base, while Josh Smith stole home, for a 2-0 lead. The White Sox finally got on the board in the top of the third inning. Andrew Vaughn singled on a line drive to Grossman. Korey Lee scored to cut the Rangers’ lead to 2-1. The Rangers added a run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Josh Smith doubled on a fly ball to Gavin Sheets. Marcus Semien made it a 3-1 game. The White Sox made it a one-run game in the top of the ninth inning. Andrew Benintendi homered on a fly ball to right field to cut the Rangers’ lead to 3-2.

Wednesday, July 24

The Rangers overcame a slow start to blow out the White Sox 10-2 on Wednesday night. Texas improved to 50-52, while Chicago fell to 27-77. Rangers starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi pitched seven innings and gave up four hits, two earned runs, and ten strikeouts. Meanwhile, White Sox starting pitcher Chris Flexen pitched just 4 2/3 innings and gave up seven hits, three earned runs, two walks, and three strikeouts. The Rangers opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning. Corey Seager homered on a line drive to right field for a 1-0 lead. The White Sox tied the game at one apiece in the top of the second inning. Nicky Lopez singled on a ground ball to Adolis Garcia. Andrew Vaughn scored to tie the game 1-1. Nicky Lopez went to second base. The White Sox took the lead in the top of the third inning. Luis Robert Jr. homered on a line drive to left field to make it a 2-1 game. Meanwhile, White Sox pitcher Jonathan Cannon pitched six innings and gave up eight hits, two earned runs, two walks, and one strikeout. After two scoreless innings, Chicago got on the board in the top of the third inning. Korey Lee doubled on a fly ball to Leodys Taveras. Brooks Baldwin scored for a 1-0 lead. The Rangers tied the game at one apiece in the bottom of the third inning. Marcus Semien homered on a fly ball to left field to tie the game 1-1. The Rangers challenged a play at first base, but the call on the field was overturned and took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Leody Taveras grounded into a force out that was fielded by Nicky Lopez. Nathaniel Lowe scored for a 2-1 lead. Robbie Grossman was out at second base, while Leody Taveras went to first base with one out.
