Probable Starting Pitchers

Game 1: Patrick Corbin (2-0, 3.77 ERA) vs. JP Sears (3-2, 3.21 ERA)

Corbin has been a solid stand-in for injured starters. Since being called up, he has allowed only 17 hits and six runs. He has given up three home runs and five walks. He struck out ten in his three outings. Sears had a solid outing against the Rangers last week. The teams faced off against one another in Sacramento. In that game, he allowed five hits. He also allowed two runs and one home run. He walked one and struck out five. This performance earned him the win.

Game 2: Jacob deGrom (0-1, 3.33 ERA) vs. TBD

deGrom takes the mound for the Texas Rangers in game two against a currently unknown opponent. During his most recent outing against the Athletics, deGrom allowed six hits and two runs and struck out six. As of the writing of this article, the Athletics had yet to name a starter for game 2.

Game 3:  Nathan Eovaldi  (2-2, 2.21  ERA) vs. Luis Severino (1-3, 3.49 ERA)

Game three looks to be a battle between the strikeout Kings of each team. Eovaldi leads the Rangers in strikeouts with 38, while Severino leads the Athletics with 29. 

Game 4:  Tyler Mahle (3-0, 1.14  ERA) vs. Jeffrey Springs (3-3, 6.04 ERA)

Mahle ran into a spot of trouble in his start against San Francisco. He snapped a 20-inning scoreless streak when he allowed a two run single off the bat of Willy Adames in the bottom of the 5th inning. Prior to that outing, he led the MLB with a 0.68 ERA. In his last start, Springs allowed seven hits, seven runs, five earned runs, one home run, two walks and struck out four.
