Player To Watch:
Milwaukee Brewers
The best catcher heading into this season is William Contreras. While his defensive metrics regressed to about league average, that is still far better than the catcher who arrived in Milwaukee two years ago. If Contreras can lift the ball more this season, he will certainly be looking at another all-star season. He finished the 2024 campaign with a respectable .281/.365/.466 slash-line while putting up 23 HR and 97 RBIs.
New York Yankees
Aaron Judge posted a 10.8 WAR last season on his way to his second American League MVP. He hit .322 with a 1.159 OPS; he had 36 doubles, a triple, 58 home runs, 144 RBI, and 122 runs scored. In 12 career games against the Brewers, Judge is hitting .378 with a 1.273 OPS; he has five home runs, ten RBI, and ten runs scored. Last season, in three games, he went 5-12 with two home runs and five RBI.
