Probable Starters:
Game 1: Hayden Wesneski (0-1, 5.40 ERA) vs. Logan Gilbert (0-1, 3.00 ERA)
Wesneski has primarily been a relief pitcher in his career with only 23 starts in 69 appearances coming into this one. He took the loss against the San Francisco Giants in his first time out this season, allowing three runs in five innings. Prior to this, he has one start appearance against the Mariners. He allowed five runs in that game. The Seattle Mariners will turn to their ace after a slow start to the season. Gilbert will be looking to keep the Mariners in the game and pick up his first win of the season. Over the course of his career, Gilbert is 5-4 with a 3.63 ERA against the Astros. He has 62 strikeouts in 12 starts.
Game 2: Framber Valdez (1-1, 3.75 ERA) vs. Luis Castillo (1-1, 3.00 ERA)
In game two, the Houston Astros will turn to their ace in Framber Valdez. Against the Mariners, Valdez is 6-3 with a 3.55 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 16 appearances. The Mariners will turn to Castillo, who is coming off his first win of the season. Castillo went seven innings against Detroit and struck out five, while only allowing two runs. Against the Astros, Castillo is 2-2 with a 3.69 ERA and 32 strikeouts in six appearances.
Game 3: Hunter Brown (1-1, 3.00 ERA) Vs. TBD
This game will likely be decided based on who the Seattle Mariners start. We know that Hunter Brown will be the starter for the Astros, but the Mariners starter is currently unknown. George Kirby being injured to start the season has thrown a wrinkle in the Mariners rotation.

Players to Watch:
Seattle Mariners
While the Mariners offense is starting to heat up, Julio Rodriguez is going to be the player to watch in this series for the Mariners. In his career, Julio Rodriguez is hitting .250 with six home runs, 21 RBI and 20 runs in 41 games against the Astros. He’s been seeing the ball better in the last three games, the Mariners will need that to continue.
Houston Astros
Yordan Alvarez always seem to have the Mariners number. In 59 games against the Mariners, Alvarez has hit .314 with 15 home runs, 57 RBI, and 31 runs scored. He has struggled to start the season, but he could heat up in this series.
