The San Francisco Giants announced three roster moves today ahead of their game with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Giants are winding down their Cactus League play and preparing their roster for opening day. They open their season on the road against the Cincinnati Reds to kick off the 2025 season.

Kyle Harrison

The San Francisco Giants have optioned the left-hand pitcher Kyle Harrison to Triple-A. He will start his 2025 season pitching for the Sacramento River Cats. Harrison appeared in three games this spring making one start. He pitched in 6.2 innings striking out nine. Harrsion ends the spring with a 10.80 ERA and a 2.10 WHIP. Last year he made 24 starts for the Giants. He earned seven wins and lost seven of those 24 starts. In 124.1 innings pitched he struck out 118 batters. Harrison ended last year with a 4.56 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP.

Keaton Winn

The San Francisco Giants have optioned Winn to Triple-A to start his 2025 season pitching for the Sacramento River Cats. Winn appeared in three games this spring including two starts. He only pitched in five innings but managed to strike out 10 during his limited action. He finished the spring with one win and one loss. Winn had a 3.60 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP this spring. Last year Winn made 12 starts for the Giants. He lost eight games and won three of his starts. In 55.1 innings of work, he struck out 48 batters while having a 7.16 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP for the Giants.

Jack Payton

The San Francisco Giants have assigned Payton to the roster ahead of today’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Payton spent last season playing across the three low levels of the Giants’ minor league system. He played in 61 games across Rookie Ball, Single-A, and Single-A+. In those combined 61 games, he had 17 doubles, three home runs, 29 RBIs, and two stolen bases. He had a batting average of .253 and a slash line of .388/.380/.768. Payton ended his 2024 playing with Eugene Emeralds in Single-A+.
