SF Giants Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The San Francisco Giants are wrapping up a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers looking to secure a series win as they won the opener 5-4 and dropped the middle game 5-3. The Giants are 5-5 in their last ten and currently sit 6.5 games back of the final playoff spot. It is currently 1-0 Brewers in the third inning, and today before the finale the Giants activated catcher Patrick Bailey from the 10-day injured list and designated catcher Andrew Knapp for assignment. Bailey is in the lineup right now and is hitting sixth and behind the dish, he is 0-1 with a strikeout in his first at-bat back.

C – Patrick Bailey

Bailey is in his second season in the big leagues, last season in his first taste he played in 97 games finishing seventh in the Rookie of the Year voting as he hit .233 with a .644 OPS; he had 18 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 48 RBI, 29 runs scored, one stolen base, and 21 walks. This season he has similar numbers as he’s played in 96 games entering today hitting .233 with a .642 OPS; he has 13 doubles, a triple, seven home runs, 38 RBI, 37 runs scored, three stolen bases, and 33 walks.

C – Andrew Knapp

Knapp is in his seventh professional season and is a career .209 hitter with 13 home runs, and 66 RBI. This season with the Giants in his second stint he played in three games hitting .167 with a .333 OPS. He was released by the Texas Rangers on August 22nd and with the Rangers Triple-A affiliate he hit .294 with a .840 OPS; he had 19 doubles, a triple, nine home runs, 44 RBI, 44 runs scored, one stolen base, and 43 walks.
