Rumor: Boston Red Sox Linked to Fireballer

Where Are They Now? Boston Red Sox Top 10 Prospects From 2019

The Boston Red Sox are the rumor Kings for a reason, and they are at it again after having one of the best bullpens in baseball last year, posting a 4.21 FIP, a 1.39 WHIP, a 4.32 ERA, a 1.07 HR/9, a 3.50 BB/9, and an 8.73 K/9. They have a backend of Chris Martin and Kenley Jansen, and now they are reportedly looking to add to that bullpen by having interest in Aroldis Chapman. The Red Sox can’t begin negotiations with players until the day after the World Series ends, and they can’t sign them until five days after the interest seems there.

Aroldis Chapman By The Numbers

Chapman started his career with the Cincinnati Reds before signing with the New York Yankees. The Yankees traded Chapman to the Chicago Cubs during their 2016 World Series run. The following offseason, he returned to the Yankees. This offseason, he signed with the Kansas City Royals, and after 31 appearances, he was traded to the Texas Rangers and now is in the postseason pitching in the ALCS for the Rangers. In his career, he posts a 50-40 record in 728 appearances; he has 321 saves with a 2.53 ERA; he also posts a 2.36 FIP, a 1.08 WHIP, a 0.6 HR/9, a 4.6 BB/9, and a 14.8 K/9. In the postseason he has made 38 appearances, with a 3-4 record a 2.25 ERA, a 1.11 WHIP, a 0.6 HR/9, a 4.1 BB/9, a 13.3 K/9 including this season. What do you think, Red Sox fans should add Chapman to their bullpen?
