
The Boston Red Sox currently down Bryan Bello and Lucas Giolito in their starting rotation lost Richard Fitts today. He left his start today in the middle game of their three-game series with the White Sox. He experienced right shoulder pain in the sixth inning. Fitts went five shutout innings giving up two hits; he walked one and struck out five. He left with a 2-0 lead. Fitts this season was 0-2 with a 3.18 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts in 17 innings. He made the team out of Spring Training due to injuries to the starting rotation but he was one of their better arms to start the 2025 season.

Richard Fitts
Fitts made his big league debut last season making four starts. He went 0-1 with a 1.74 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in 20.2 innings. At Triple-A Worcester in 2024 he made 24 appearances with 23 of those coming as starts going 9-5 with a 4.17 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP, and 111 strikeouts in 116.2 innings. Before the Red Sox acquired him he had pitched in the Yankees system. In 2022 he made 22 starts at Single-A and High-A going 7-8 with a 3.70 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP, and 131 strikeouts in 112 innings. In 2023 at Double-A he made 27 starts going 11-5 with a 3.48 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP, and 163 strikeouts in 152.2 innings.
