Red Sox Lose Star Tonight vs. Angels

The Boston Red Sox are currently leading the Los Angeles Angels 4-0 in the first game of their three-game series as the Red Sox got solo home runs from Tyler O’Neill, Triston Casas, and a two-run home run by Reese McGuire. The Red Sox suffered a scare in the second inning Ceddanne Rafaela got hit by a pitch on the hand but he stayed in the game. At the bottom of the fourth tTh y suffered what all are hoping is only a minor loss as the Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story left the game on after trying to make a diving play but he was clearly in excruciating pain, even Rafael Devers knew it right away that something wasn’t right on the play, it’ll be time to wait for the extent of his injury but Pablo Reyes entered the game at shortstop.

Trevor Story By The Numbers

Story signed with the Red Sox on March 23, 2022, and in his first season in Boston he played in 94 games and hit .238 with a .737 OPS; he had 22 doubles, 16 home runs, 66 RBI, 53 runs scored, 13 stolen based, and 32 walks. He underwent shoulder surgery before 2023 and returned to play in 43 games he hit .203 with a .566 OPS; he had nine doubles, three home runs, 14 RBI, 12 runs scored, ten stolen bases, and nine walks. To start this season in seven games he has gone 7-30 with three doubles, four RBI, a run scored, a stolen base, and three walks. He started to catch fire during that series in Oakland and was needed by the Red Sox defensively, hopefully, it’s nothing serious but it didn’t look good.
