Fernandez started with the Rockies Dominican Summer League playing in 54 games and he slashed .333/.406/.531 with a .937 OPS; he had 17 doubles, six home runs, 34 RBI, 29 runs scored, and 22 walks.

2022

Fernandez played at Single-A Fresno playing in 112 games and he slashed .284/.340/.507 with a .848 OPS; he had 33 doubles, five triples, 21 home runs, 109 RBI, 76 runs scored, five stolen bases, and 39 walks.  

2023

Fernandez played for Single-A Fresno, High-A Spokane, and Double-A Hartford. He played in 117 games and slashed .265/.313/.486 with a .799 OPS; he had 25 doubles, three triples, 25 home runs, 92 RBI, 70 runs scored, one stolen base, and 32 walks. He played in the Futures Game going 1-2 with a run and a strikeout. This winter he played in the Puerto Rican Winter League with Ponce and in 23 games he slashed .225/.271/.270 with a .541 OPS; he had one double, one home run, seven RBI, five runs scored, two stolen bases, and six walks.
