Player Profile: Xavier Isaac

Xavier Isaac was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on December 17, 2003. He played high school baseball at East Forsyth High School in Kernersville, NC. He was the top-ranked first baseman and the fourth overall player in North Carolina in 2022. In high school he played in 60 games and hit .445 with a .579 OBP, he had 12 doubles, three triples, 18 home runs, 56 RBI, and 57 runs scored. On the mound he made four appearances going 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA, and four strikeouts in 2.1 innings.  Isaac was the top-ranked first baseman nationally and the 54th overall player. He committed to play college baseball at the University of Florida.

Isaac was the 113th-ranked prospect entering the 2022 draft and would be selected with the 29th overall pick by the Tampa Bay Rays.

Isaac played for the Rays rookie league team appearing in five games and he slashed .211/.286/.368 with a .654 OPS; he had three doubles, five RBI, four runs scored, and two walks.

Isaac played for Single-A Charleston and High-A Bowling Green. In 102 games he slashed .285/.395/.521 with a .916 OPS; he had 20 doubles, four triples, 19 home runs, 72 RBI, 71 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, and 64 walks.

ITD ranks Isaac as the 54th overall prospect and the Rays second-ranked prospect. He will likely start in 2024 at High-A.
