Ty Madden was born in Houston, Texas, on February 21, 2000. He played high school baseball at Cypress Ranch High School in Cypress, TX. He was the fifth-ranked RHP and the seventh overall player in Texas.
Madden’s senior year, he made 16 appearances, with 14 of those as starts, and he went 9-2 with a 1.32 ERA, two complete games, and one shutout; he had 106 strikeouts in 74.1 innings of work. He went 16-8 in his career with a 2.33 ERA and 205 strikeouts in 156 innings.

Madden started his Tigers career by playing in High-A with West Michigan before heading to Double-A Erie. Between the two levels, he made 26 starts, going 8-6 with a 3.01 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP, and 133 strikeouts over 122.2 innings of work.
2023
Madden pitched the whole season for Double-A Erie, where he made 26 appearances, with 25 starts, going 3-4 with a 3.43 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP, and 146 strikeouts in 118 innings of work. He was a key component for Erie as they won the Double-A Eastern League Championship. He made one start in the Division finals, going 6.1 innings, giving up three runs on five hits; he walked three and struck out eight, picking up the win. He was slated to start game three of the Championship, but Erie would sweep.
Future
ITD ranks Madden as the Tigers sixth-ranked prospect. Madden is expected to debut in 2024, but the Tigers have a log jam with their starting rotation. He will likely be at Spring Training but will probably start the 2024 season at Triple-A Toledo.
