Owen Caissie was born in Burlington, Canada, on July 8, 2002. He played high school baseball at Notre Dame High School in Burlington, ON. He was the second-ranked outfielder and the third overall player in Ontario in 2020. He played on Canada’s Junior National Team as well.  Caissie was the 40th-ranked outfielder nationally and the 236th overall player. He committed to play college baseball at the University of Michigan.

Caissie was the 75th-ranked prospect entering the 2020 draft and would be selected in the second round by the Chicago Cubs.

Owen Caissie Cubs Tenure

2021

In his first season with the Cubs, he played for their rookie league team and Single-A Myrtle Beach. In 54 games he slashed .302/.434/.489 with a .923 OPS; he had 11 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 29 RBI, 35 runs scored, one stolen bases, and 42 walks.

2022

Caissie played for High-A South Bend for 105 games. He slashed .254/.349/.402 with a .751 OPS; he had 21 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, 58 RBI, 57 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, and 50 walks. He also played in the Arizona Fall League for Mesa playing in 16 games he slashed .220/.270/.356 with a .626 OPS; he had five doubles, one home run, nine RBI, nine runs scored, three stolen bases, and four walks.

2023

Caissie played at Double-A Tennessee. In 120 games he slashed .289/.399/.519 with a .918 OPS; he had 31 doubles, two triples, 22 home runs, 84 RBI, 77 runs scored, seven stolen bases, and 76 walks.

Future                                                                   

ITD ranks Caissie as the 51st overall prospect and the Cubs third-ranked prospect. He will likely start 2024 at Triple-A.
