Nick Gonzalez- 2B
The Pirates have placed Nick Gonzalez on the ten-day injured list with a non-displaced left ankle fracture. In yesterday’s opening day match-up, Gonzalez hit a two-run home run. It gave the Pirates the lead at the time. However, while rounding the bases, it was very clear that he was in pain. Gonzalez was one for three yesterday with two RBI and struck out twice. The Pirates will now wait. They want to see how long they will be without the second baseman to start their season.
