Picks of the Day, Wednesday 4/5

Alex Verdugo is off to a hot start. Can he hit a homerun today and save my week? Mary DeCicco/MLB via Getty Images

The good news is, I’ve hit my reach pick the last two days, so financially I’m about breaking even. The bad news is, another 1-2 day, and a 4-8 record on my regular picks. I can’t believe the Oakland A’s are costing me money.
Get your picks in early, games start at 12:35 today:

Pick#1
Cubs at Reds, Under .5 1st inning runs,-120
Greene vs Stroman, the bullpens will determine this game, neither team can hit. Both pitchers start strong

Pick #2
Rays at Nationals, Rays Team Total Runs Over 5.5, +105
Patrick Corbin was the worst starter in MLB last year. Normally teams would rest stars on get-away day, but Rays are off tomorrow, so everyone plays.

Pick #3
Braves at Cardinals, Over 9 Total Runs,-115
Elder is called up to replace Fried, on short rest. Mikolas got lit up last week. Both teams are scoring runs.

Reach
Alex Verdugo is +1100 to hit a Homerun. Can’t pass on those odds for Verdugo who has been hitting the ball hard. Keller is Homerun prone, Fenway has been a launching pad.

What makes that record even more frustrating is that the pitching wasn’t the problem. As a staff, the Pirates ranked 7th in the National League in ERA (4.33), 5th in WHIP (1.32), 3rd in […]
