Picks of the Day, 5/9

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday wasn’t a bad start to the week. Gallen got me the win. McClanahan got me 7 strikeouts. Unfortunately, the Rangers and Mariners only scored 3 runs.

2-1 yesterday, 57-50 on the season:
Pick #1
Red Sox @ Braves Under 10 runs, -115
This line is 10 with Pivetta and Morton pitching, and the A’s/Yankees line is 8.5 with Schmidt and Rucinski. It seems really high. Pivetta stinks, but he tends to pitch up or down to the opponent. He’ll step up today.
Pick #2
Padres @ Twins, Padres -1.5 Run Line, +160
Padres are finally playing up to expectations, and Wacha has allowed 6 hits in his last 2 starts combined. Love the juice here. Let’s go Friars.
Pick #3
Cardinals @ Cubs, Over 7.5 Total Runs, -115
The line just seems low with Flaherty and Tallion throwing. Flaherty looks like he might be hurt or working through something.
Reach
Masataka Yoshida is +750 to hit a home run in Atlanta. The run line is the highest in MLB tonight. Feels like a game where Manfred throws in the juiced balls. I’ll probably thow some money on Verdugo, Olson, and Murphy too.
