The Philadelphia Phillies will face the Atlanta Braves today in Grapefruit League play. The Phillies are 11-11 this spring. They will have Nabil Crismatt making his seventh appearance this spring. He is 1-0 with a 2.35 ERA, a 0.78 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in 7.2 innings. Raisel Iglesias will oppose him. The Braves closer is making his fifth appearance this spring, he is posting a 0.00 ERA, a 1.00 WHIP, and three strikeouts in four innings. Ahead of today’s game they have optioned right-handed pitcher Devin Sweet and catcher Garrett Stubbs to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Devin Sweet

Sweet this spring in seven games is 0-0 with a 6.14 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and six strikeouts in 7.1 innings. Sweet is in his fourth organization having pitched in the Seattle Mariners, Athletics, and Detroit Tigers organizations. He is 1-0 in the big leagues in seven appearances with a 10.38 ERA, a 1.85 WHIP, a 6.2 BB/9, and a 6.2 K/9 in 8.2 innings. Last season, at Triple-A Toledo he made 52 appearances with four starts going 9-6. Sweet posted a 3.91 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, a 4.5 BB/9, and a 13.1 K/9 in 76 innings. The Phillies acquired Sweet from the Tigers in exchange for cash considerations.

Garrett Stubbs

Stubbs this spring in ten games hit .286 with a .804 OPS. He had two doubles, four RBI, and four runs scored. Last season with the Phillies in 54 games he hit .207 with a .558 OPS. Stubbs had four doubles, a triple, a home run, 11 RBI, and 18 runs scored. He is a career .215 hitter with a .605 OPS. Stubbs has 17 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 45 RBI, and 63 runs scored.
