Philadelphia Phillies Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Philadelphia Phillies Tied the Miami Marlins yesterday 3-3 in Grapefruit League play. The Phillies will play against the Toronto Blue Jays today during their St. Patrick’s Day matchup. Before the game today against the Blue Jays the team has announced a few roster moves.

Assigned to the Philadelphia Phillies

SS – Diego Gonzalez

Diego Gonzalez played in the Florida Complex League for the Phillies last season. He played in 30 games, had 89 at-bats, 19 runs scored, four doubles, two home runs, 10 RBIs, 10 walks, and slashed .258/.340/.371 he had an OPS of .711 during those 30 games.

SS – Zach Arnold

Zach Arnold spent his 2023 season playing for two teams the Phillies in the Florida State League and the Florida Complex League. He played four games in the Florida Complex League slashing .273/.357/.636 and an OPS of .993 in those four games. While playing in the Florida State League he appeared in 22 games where he slashed .293/.376/.415 and had an OPS of .791 over 22 games played.

RHP – Jack Dallas

Pitched last season for the Jersey Shore team in the South Atlantic League. He appeared in 23 games, throwing 35.1 innings, with 38 K’s, went 7-2, an ERA of 2.80, and a WHIP of 0.99 during his time with Jersey Shore.

RHP – Jason Ruffcorn

Ruffcorn played in the South Atlantic League last year for Jersey Shore. He appeared in 44 games going 4-5, throwing 50.1 innings, with an ERA of 5.43. He also struck out 52 batters and finished the year with a WHIP of 1.43 while pitching for Jersey Shore.

RHP – Efrain Contreras Signed to a Minor League Contract.

Contreras pitched last season for the San Antonio Double Affiliate for the Phillies in the Texas League. He appeared in 35 games, starting 17 of them going 6-7 on the year. He pitched 97 innings, had 117 K’s, an ERA of 4.92, and finished with a WHIP of 1.40 last year.
