The Philadelphia Phillies made a splash this evening as they acquired the top reliever on the trade market. The Phillies are acquiring Jhoan Duran from the Minnesota Twins. The Phillies are reportedly sending right-handed prospect Mick Abel and catcher Eduardo Tait to the Twins in exchange for Duran. Duran this season in 49 appearances is 6-4 with 16 saves, a 2.01 ERA, a 2.49 FIP, a 1.18 WHIP, and 53 strikeouts in 49.1 innings. The Phillies bullpen ranks 24th in ERA with a 4.33, 23rd in WHIP with a 1.35, and 23rd in FIP with a 4.21. Adding Duran is a huge boost for a team that badly needs help at the backend of the bullpen and can be an arm to help carry them on a lengthy postseason run.
