The New York Mets enter play today with an 18-7 record. They sit atop the NL East with a five-game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies. The Mets head on the road to face the Washington Nationals for a three-game series over the weekend. Before this evening’s game, the Mets welcomed back Francisco Alvarez and Jeff McNeil from the injured list. They both will be making their 2025 season debut tonight. Francisco Alvarez

The New York Mets have activated Alvarez from the 10-day injured list. He will be in the lineup today making his 2025 season debut. During his 10-game rehab assignment, he has hit one home run with three RBI. He has a .179 batting average over those 10 games. Last year, Alvarez played in 100 games. He had 39 runs, 73 hits, 14 doubles, and two triples. He also hit 11 home runs and had 47 RBI. Alvarez had a .237 batting average with a .710 OPS.

Jeff McNeil

The Mets have activated second baseman Jeff McNeil today ahead of their game. McNeil will also be making his season debut after dealing with an Oblique injury this spring. He had an eight-game rehab stint. During those games, he had a .393 batting average with seven runs, 11 hits, one double, two home runs, and three RBI.

Brett Baty

The New York Mets have optioned Baty to Triple-A to make room on the roster for McNeil. In 19 games this year with the Mets Baty has a .204 batting average. Baty has four runs, 11 hits, three doubles, one triple, one home run, four RBI, and one steal. He will continue his year with the Syracuse Mets.

Hayden Senger

The New York Mets have optioned Senger to Triple-A as they make room for Alvarez on the roster. In 13 games for the Mets this year Senger has a .179 batting average and a .421 OPS. Senger had five hits, three runs, one double, and struck out nine times during his time with the Mets.
