Twins Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Twins look to sweep the White Sox today and improve their 9-15 record to double-digit wins. They are currently fourth in the AL Central five and a half games back from the Detroit Tigers. They are 5-5 in their last 10 games and look to finish the sweep this afternoon. This weekend, the Twins will host the Angels for a three-game series. Next week, they will head on the road to face the Cleveland Guardians. Before this afternoon’s game, the Twins announced they had placed Willi Castro on the 10-day injured list. They have recalled Mickey Casper and to make room they have optioned David Festa back to Triple-A.

Willi Castro

The Twins have placed Castro on the 10-day injured list retroactive to April, 21st with a right oblique strain. Castro has played in 18 games for the Twins this year. He has a .227 batting average with seven runs, six doubles, one home run, five RBI, and one steal.

Mickey Casper

The Twins have recalled second baseman Mickey Casper from Triple-A. He has played in 10 games already for the Twins this year. In that time he has a .111 batting average with one run and two hits. In four games with St. Paul in Triple-A, he has a .333 batting average with one double and two home runs.

David Festa

The Minnesota Twins have optioned the right-hand pitcher to Triple-A today. He will continue his season pitching for the St. Paul Saints. Festa has made three starts for the Twins so far this year without factoring in a decision. He has pitched 13 innings allowed 12 hits, two earned runs, five walks, and struck out 15. Festa has a 1.38 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and a .245 batting average against.
