The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cleveland Guardinas today and have tomorrow as a day off from any games. The season is 9 days away and today the Brewers made some moves to get their final roster in a better spot ahead of Opening Day.
2B – Oliver Dunn
Dunn was optioned to the Nashville Sounds today the Triple A affiliate of the Brewers. Dunn appeared in 14 games getting 35 at-bats this spring where he slashed .286/.390/.486 of those games. He added two doubles, one triple, one home run, nine RBIs, and four stolen bases this spring.
SS – Vinny Capra
Capra was optioned today to the Nashville Sounds as well. Capra played in 12 games getting 19 at-bats this spring. In those 19 at-bats, he slashed .316/.381/.421 this spring. He also added three stolen bases in the spring.
SS – Owen Miller
Miller was optioned to the Nashville Sounds as well today. Miller appeared in 13 games receiving 30 at-bats, where he slashed .233/.258/.333 in his time this spring. Miller added one double, one triple, and Five RBIs in those 30 at-bats.
RHP – Janson Junk
Junk has been optioned to the Nashville Sounds today. This spring he appeared in three games, two of which he received the start. He pitched in 8 innings this spring with a 6.00 ERA, four strikeouts, and a 1.33 WHIP in his limited work.
RHP – Miqueas Mercedes
Mercedes was signed to a Minor League Contract this afternoon. Mercedes is a six foot three 200 pound right-hand pitcher. At this time there are no details on where he will be assigned within the Brewers organization.
