
The Miami Marlins had their series finale today against the Atlanta Braves rained out shifting their rotation for their next series against the New York Mets. They will also face another shift as they place their ace Sandy Alcantara on the paternity list. They will have an opener for the first game. Connor Gillispie gets the middle game and Max Meyer gets the finale. Alcantara made his return this season after missing all of 2025 as he recovered from Tommy John. He’s made two starts going 1-0 with a 3.72 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in 9.2 innings. This spring in five starts he didn’t allow an earned run, he did allow two runs though on nine hits. He walked three and struck out ten in 12.1 innings.

Sandy Alcantara
Alcantara is in his eighth season having made 148 appearances with 140 of those coming as starts. He is 42-55 with a 3.32 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and 800 strikeouts in 910.1 innings. Alcantara won the National League Cy Young in 2022 and finished tenth in MVP voting as well as being an All-Star. He made 32 starts that season going 14-9 with a 2.28 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP, and 207 strikeouts in 228.2 innings. He was also an All-Star in 2019.
