Los Angeles Dodgers Cut down Roster ahead of Tokoyo Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers open their season in Tokyo. They will play against the Chicago Cubs on March 18th and 19th at the Tokyo Dome. The Dodgers announced today two roster moves ahead of this pending series. Bobby Miller, the talented right-hand pitcher has been optioned to Oklahoma City Comets to start the year in Triple-A.

Bobby Miller – Right Hand Pitcher

The Dodgers have announced that they have optioned Bobby Miller to Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets. Bobby Miller only made one spring appearance and took a line drive off the head in that outing. Miller avoided any fractures. He was placed in concussion protocol. Michael Busch of the Chicago Cubs lined the ball back up the middle, which struck Miller in the head. Last season Miller made 13 starts for the Dodgers. He had two wins, four losses, and an ERA of 8.52. He pitched 56 innings last year striking out 52 batters, walking 30, and ending the year with a 1.77 WHIP.

Hyeseong Kim – Second base

The Los Angeles Dodgers have optioned Kim to the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets to start the year. This spring, in 29 at-bats, he had six hits and one home run. He also had three RBIs, two stolen bases, and a batting average of .207. Kim last year played in the KBO league for Kiwoom Heroes in Korea. He was signed by the Dodgers on January 3rd, 2025. He will start his first season in the Major Leagues with the Oklahoma Comets in Triple-A alongside Bobby Miller.

The Dodgers are coming off a terrific season last year. They won the World Series against the New York Yankees. Bobby Miller is part of their very talented group of starters for the Dodgers. Newcomers Blake Snell and Roki Sasaki join Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, and Dustin May in the projected rotation. This depth allows the Dodgers to send Bobby Miller to Triple-A. This gives him more time to ramp up and develop. The Dodgers are one of the deepest rotations in all of baseball. Having Bobby Miller in Triple-A is a luxury.
