
The Kansas City Royals will wrap up their series against the Tampa Bay Rays this afternoon. The Royals are looking to complete a sweep and will do so with Seth Lugo on the mound facing Shane Baz for the Rays. Ahead of today’s finale, the Royals made three moves. First, they selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Taylor Clarke from Triple-A Omaha. To make room for Clarke, they optioned left-handed pitcher Noah Cameron to Omaha. They also transferred right-handed pitcher James McArthur from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list with right elbow olecranon surgery.

Taylor Clarke
Clarke, this season at Triple-A Omaha, has appeared in ten games, going 0-1 with a 4.40 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP, and a 5.7 K/9. He spent last season at Triple-A for the Milwaukee Brewers, going 2-4 with a 4.90 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, and a 7.4 K/9. He hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since 2023 when he was with the Royals, making 58 appearances, going 3-6 with a 5.95 ERA, a 1.61 WHIP, and a 9.9 K/9.
Noah Cameron
Cameron picked up the win in his first career big league start yesterday. He went 6.1 shutout innings, giving up one hit. He walked five and struck out three. In five starts at Omaha this season, he is 2-0 with a 3.22 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and 27 strikeouts in 22.1 innings. Last season, in 25 starts in the minors, he went 7-6 with a 3.08 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP, and 149 strikeouts in 128.2 innings.
James McArthur
McArthur appeared in 57 games for Kansas City last season going 5-7 with a 4.92 ERA, a 1.45 WHIP, and a 7.8 K/9.
