The Royals are 6-5 and heading into their game tonight with the Minnesota Twins. They have taken the first two games of the four-game series with the divisional rivals. They have announced two moves today before the third game of the series. Mark Canha has been sent to the injured list today. The Royals recalled an outfielder to fill in during his absence. Kansas City is currently a half game back from first place in the AL Central behind the Detroit Tigers. The Royals have won four of their last five games. They will head to Cleveland after Thursday’s series finale with the Twins.

Mark Canha – 1B

The Royals have placed Canha on the 10-day injured list with a left abductor strain. He has played in seven games so far for the Royals this year. Canha has scored four runs, five hits, two doubles, and two walks. He has a .357 batting average and a .971 OPS. The thirty-six-year-old has a career .250 batting average and a .349 on-base percentage over his career in the big leagues.

Drew Waters – RF

The Royals have recalled Waters from the Omaha Storm Chasers. Waters played in seven games last season for the Royals. He had two runs scored, three hits, one double, one RBI, and two walks. Waters had a .188 batting average and a .566 OPS. So far this year with Triple-A has played seven games for Omaha. He had six runs, 10 hits, two doubles, one triple, two home runs, seven RBI, and three steals. Waters has a .370 batting average and a 1.210 OPS.
