The Royals head into today’s game with the Guardians with a 7-6 record on the year. They have a three-game series with the Guardians starting tonight in Cleveland. Ahead of the divisional match-up, the Royals have announced a roster move impacting a key bullpen arm. Hunter Henry has been sent to the injured list before tonight’s game. After the three-game series with Cleveland, the Royals head to New York to face the Yankees for three games. Then, they head to Detroit for a four-game series with the Tigers. They will then head back home to face the Rockies for three games.

Hunter Harvey – RHP

The Royals have placed Harvey on the 15-day injured list with a right teres major strain. The move is retroactive to April 8th. The teres major is a muscle located on the back side of your shoulder. It connects your shoulder blade to your upper arm bone. Harvey has been excellent so far this year. He has appeared in six games. He has pitched in 5.1 innings, allowing one hit, zero runs, zero walks, striking out seven, and has three holds to start the year. Harvey has a 0.00 ERA and a 0.19 WHIP to start the season.

Steven Cruz – RHP

The Royals have recalled Cruz from the Omaha Storm Chasers. Cruz appeared in five games last season for the Royals. He worked in 5.2 innings, allowing one hit, no runs, no walks, and striking out 4. He had a 0.00 ERA and a .018 WHIP last year. So far this year in Triple-A, he has worked in three games with one save and a 6.00 ERA. Cruz has pitched in three innings, allowing three hits, two runs, two walks, and striking out six.
