
The Texas Rangers beat the Boston Red Sox 4-1 tonight behind two solo home runs from Jonah Heim. It was the Rangers’ first win of the 2025 season. They did, however lose Josh Jung. Jung left the game in the bottom of the seventh inning after making a play to end the inning. His neck stiffened up after the play. He was replaced by Josh Smith at third base in the top to the eighth inning. Jung was 1-3 with an RBI tonight and is 3-7 to start the 2025 campaign.

Jung is in his fourth season with the Rangers. Entering tonight he had played in 195 games hitting .259 with a .751 OPS. He had 34 doubles, three triples, 35 home runs, 100 RBI, and 103 runs scored. Jung last season hit .264 with a .719 OPS in 46 games. He had five doubles, a triple, seven home runs, 16 RBI, and 19 runs scored. He was an All-Star in 2023 in which he also finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting. That season Jung played in 122 games hitting .266 with a .781 OPS. Jung had 25 doubles, a triple, 23 home runs, 70 RBI, and 75 runs scored. Gunnar Henderson ended up winning Rookie of the Year that season.
