The Houston Astros will host the Philadelphia Phillies for a three-game series starting Tuesday. The Astros achieved a series victory over the Angels this past weekend. They now have a 45-33 record. The team holds a five-game lead over the Mariners in the AL West. The Astros are 7-3 in their last ten games. They will face a tough challenge against the Phillies. The Phillies are 8-2 over their last 10 games. Today, the Houston Astros have announced two roster moves. They activated one player off the injured list. Additionally, they send an outfielder back to Triple-A ahead of their series.

Taylor Trammell is back from the Injured list.

Taylor Trammell will see his first action of the year after being called up today by the Astros. He has been on the injured list due to a calf strain suffered back in Spring Training. Trammell has been on a rehab assignment since June 2nd of this year. He has played in 12 total games during his rehab stint. These games were between the Florida Complex League and the Triple-A with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys. While on his rehab assignment, he has a .293 batting average, two home runs, and 10 RBI.

Shay Whitcomb heading back to Triple-A

Whitcomb is heading back to Triple-A without having an impact on the Astros’ lineup offensively. He played in nine games without recording a hit and striking out five times. He will head back to Triple-A, where he has 13 doubles, 18 home runs, and 38 RBI. Whitcomb has displayed power in the Minors. However, he has not yet had any success with the big club.
