This past weekend the Top 100 Prospects list was released, and the Pittsburgh Pirates had five names crack the list: three position players and two pitchers made the list. 2B Termarr Johnson is ranked 26th, C Henry Davis is 27th, C/2B/OF Endy Rodriguez is 35th, RHP Quinn Priester is 53rd, and LHP Anthony Solometo is 94th.
Pirates Prospects 2023 Season by the Numbers
2B – Termarr Johnson
Johnson this season has played for the Pirates Single-A affiliate, the Bradenton Marauders. He has played in 63 games scoring 46 runs, hitting nine doubles, a triple, 11 home runs, 38 RBI, and four stolen bases. He posts a slash line of .250/.416/.462 and an OPS of .878.
C – Henry Davis
Davis has made his big-league debut for the Pirates already this season. Still, he also played for their AA affiliate, the Altoona Curve, and their AAA affiliate, the Indianapolis Indians. In the minors this season, he combined to play in 51 games with a slash line of .284/.433/.541 and an OPS of .974. He has scored 29 runs, hit ten doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, 30 RBI, and nine stolen bases. With the Pirates he has played in 23 games scoring 13 runs, four doubles, two home runs, nine RBI, and three stolen bases. He has a slash line of .281/.372/.402 and an OPS of .775.
C/2B/OF – Endy Rodriguez
Rodriguez has played this season with the Pirates AAA affiliate, the Indianapolis Indians, and in 67 games, has scored 54 runs, hit 16 doubles, three triples, six home runs, 38 RBI, and has four stolen bases. He also posts a slash line of .268/.356/.415 and an OPS of .771. Rodriguez was called up by the Pirates on Monday.
RHP – Quinn Priester
Priester has spent his whole season with the Pirates AAA affiliate, the Indianapolis Indians. He has made 18 starts going 7-3 with a 4.31 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 87.2 innings of work. He posts a 1.35 WHIP, a 3.6 BB/9, and an 8.6 K/9. Priester was called up to Pittsburgh on Monday.
LHP – Anthony Solometo
Solometo has spent time with the Pirates High-A affiliate, the Greensboro Grasshoppers, and their AA affiliate, the Altoona Curve. He has combined for a 3-4 record in 16 starts with 89 strikeouts and a 2.32 ERA in 77.2 innings of work. He posts a 1.10 WHIP, a 3.4 BB/9, and a 10.3 K/9. With the Curve, he has made four starts; he is 1-1 with a 2.37 ERA and strikeouts in 19 innings of work and posting a 0.94 WHIP, a 1.9 BB/9, and a 9.9 K/9.
