The Detroit Tigers are climbing their way to a potential playoff spot as they will wrap up their series against the Colorado Rockies today and with a win they’ll secure a series sweep and sit 2.5 games back of the final playoff spot heading into a huge series this weekend against the Baltimore Orioles a team they have six games over the next ten days and those games could be what gets the Tigers in the postseason or eliminates them. The Tigers did however get a boost today to their lineup that has produced 27 runs in their last three games as they get Wenceel Perez back and the corresponding move in Ryan Kreidler being sent down to Triple-A Toledo.

OF – Wenceel Perez

Perez in his rookie season has played in 97 games hitting .242 with a .684 OPS; he has 13 doubles, five triples, nine home runs, 32 RBI, 49 runs scored, nine stolen bases, and 27 walks. At Triple-A Toledo this season in 14 games he was hitting .154 with a .639 OPS; he had two doubles, two triples, two home runs, seven RBI, ten runs scored, four stolen bases, and seven walks. In his rehab stint, he played in seven games hitting .091 with a .458 OPS; he had a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and three walks; most of those came in his last three games so he has found his stride and is ready to return to the Tigers lineup.

INF – Ryan Kreidler

Kreidler this season for the Tigers has played in 34 games hitting .119 with a .369 OPS; he had a home run, two RBI, nine runs scored, five stolen bases, and six walks. This is his third stint with the Tigers and in this recent stretch he hit .091 with only one hit in 11 at-bats, he did score two runs though. At Toledo this season in 39 games he hit .214 with a .681 OPS; he had two doubles, two triples, five home runs, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored, five stolen bases, and 16 walks.
