The Detroit Tigers are going to start a four-game series against the Chicago White Sox as they continue a seven-game trip in the Windy City. The Tigers are coming off a series loss to the Chicago Cubs in which they were outscored 15-11. The Tigers entered that series having been one of the hottest teams having won six of their last seven as they swept the Seattle Mariners and took two out of three from the New York Yankees. They outscored those teams by a combined 27-9. Ahead of the start of this series, the Tigers have Ryan Kreidler in Chicago as Javier Baez is undergoing some tests. There has been no decision if Baez will need an injured list stint but they have an option in case he does need to be shut down.
INF – Ryan Kreidler
Kreidler this season has appeared in 21 games with the Tigers hitting .136 with a .413 OPS; he had one home run, two RBI, six runs scored, three stolen bases, and four walks. He last appeared with the Tigers on August 1st. Since returning to Toledo he hit .246 with a double, two triples, two home runs, three RBI, ten runs scored, five walks, and two stolen bases. His numbers at Triple-A this season, he’s hitting .214 with a .681 OPS; he has two doubles, two triples, five home runs, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored, 16 walks, and five stolen bases.
SS – Javier Baez
Baez this season in 80 games is hitting .184 with a .516 OPS; he has 12 doubles, six home runs, 37 RBI, 25 runs scored, eight stolen bases, and 12 walks. In the month of August, he’s hitting .214 with two doubles, two home runs, five RBI, five runs scored, four walks, and two stolen bases.
