
The Detroit Tigers wrap up a three-game series with the Chicago White Sox this afternoon. The Tigers have split the series thus far, winning game one 2-1 and dropping last night’s game 9-6. Ahead of today’s finale, the Tigers reinstated right-handed pitcher Sawyer Gipson-Long and optioned right-handed pitcher Codi Heuer to Triple-A Toledo.

Sawyer Gipson-Long
Gipson-Long in five appearances, with two of those coming as starts, going 0-1. He posted a 4.70 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts in 23 innings. He’s also made nine rehab starts between Single-A, High-A, and Triple-A. Sawyer Gipson-Long went 0-1 with a 3.66 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP, and 33 strikeouts in 32 innings. He’s made nine career big league appearances with six of those coming as starts. He is 1-1 with a 3.77 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP, and 44 strikeouts in 43 innings.
Codi Heuer
Heuer, in two games with the Tigers, posted a 5.40 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and four strikeouts in 3.1 innings. He also pitched for the Rangers. In three games combined, he is posting a 5.79 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP, and five strikeouts in 4.2 innings. In two games at Toledo he didn’t allow a run or a hit, or a walk in 1.1 innings; he struck out two.
