To make room for Vierling they optioned left handed reliever Sean Guenther to Triple-A Toledo. Vierling has played in 11 minor league games during his rehab stint hitting .206 with an .813 OPS. He had two doubles, two home runs, five RBI, five runs scored, a stolen base and nine walks. Guenther in nine games with Detroit this season is 0-1 with a 5.23 ERA, a 2.98 FIP, a 1.45 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in 10.1 innings.

Matt Vierling
