Detroit Tigers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Detroit Tigers will start a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight. Ahead of tonight’s game, the Tigers made a roster change. They placed right-handed pitcher Reese Olson on the injured list. They also recalled reliever Chase Lee from Triple-A Toledo. Olson is dealing with inflammation in the right ring finger. The Tigers expected Olson to start the game on Thursday. It will be a bullpen game on Wednesday. The team will push Jack Flaherty back a day. He will start the series against the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday.

Reese Olson

Olson this season in nine starts is 4-3 with a 2.96 ERA, a 2.94 FIP, a 1.17 WHIP, and 51 strikeouts in 48.2 innings. The team expected him to start the series in Cleveland on Thursday. Olson last season made 22 starts, going 4-8 with a 3.53 ERA, a 3.17 FIP, a 1.18 WHIP, and 101 strikeouts in 112.1 innings.

Chase Lee 

Lee has a 1.00 ERA, a 2.75 FIP, a 0.89 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in nine innings in eight games with Detroit. In eight games at Toledo, he is 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts in 11.1 innings.
