Detroit Tigers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Detroit Tigers are currently in the middle of a three-game series against the New York Mets. In the first game on Monday, the Tigers took the first game in what was a pitcher’s duel that saw Reese Olson and Sean Manaea go toe to toe. The Tigers eventually won the game in extra innings 5-0. Tuesday’s game was postponed due to inclement weather, leading to a schedule of Wednesday and Thursday playing the games. Today’s game was canceled earlier today due to the Northeast dealing with a Nor’easter leading to the scheduling of a doubleheader on Thursday with the first game set at 12:10 PM EST and the second game at 3:40 PM EST. With the doubleheader the Tigers and Mets rosters will expand to 27 players and the Tigers made the decision instead of Tarik Skubal they would make a call-up pushing Skubal to pitch the Tigers home opener. The Tigers today decided to call up RHP Matt Manning from Triple-A Toledo. So tomorrow’s pitching schedule will be Casey Mize making his return to the mound for the first time since 2022 in game one while Manning will get game two.
