Today the Detroit Tigers claimed infielder Buddy Kennedy off waivers. Kennedy had been placed on waivers by the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals designated him for assignment earlier this week. In a corresponding move for the Tigers to make room for Kennedy, they designated infielder Andre Lipcius for assignment.

Kennedy was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the fifth round of the 2017 draft.
