Tigers May Regret Parting Ways With Former Slugger After Electric Spring Training

The Detroit Tigers currently have eight prospects playing in the Arizona Fall League with the Salt Rivers Rafters, which features prospects from the Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves, Colorado Rockies, and Pittsburgh Pirates. The Rafters are 10-11 through their first 21 games and currently sit 2.5 back of first place. The Tigers prospects who are currently playing for the Rafters are RHP Jackson Jobe, RHP Wilmer Flores, RHP Tanner Kohlhepp, RHP RJ Petit, RHP Dylan Smith, 2B Jace Jung, INF Hao-Yu Lee, OF Justic Bigbie.

Arizona Fall League By The Numbers

Jackson Jobe

Jobe is the 54th-ranked prospect and the Tigers’ third-ranked prospect. He has made four starts, going 3-1 with a 2.87 ERA; he has a 1.21 WHIP, a 1.1 HR/9, a 2.9 BB/9, and a 10.9 K/9. He pitched across four levels pitching in Rookie ball, Single-A Lakeland, High-A West Michigan, and Double-A Erie.

Wilmer Flores

Flores is the Tigers’ seventh-ranked prospect in their system. This fall, he has appeared in four games, going 0-0 with a 4.09 ERA, a 1.54 WHIP, a 0.0 HR/9, a 1.6 BB/9, and an 11.5 K/9. During the 2023 season, he played for High-A West Michigan and Double-A Erie.

Tanner Kohlhepp

Kohlhepp has appeared in six games, going 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA, a 2.83 WHIP, a 1.5 HR/9, a 10.5 BB/9, and a 15.0 K/9. In 2023, he pitched for Single-A Lakeland.

RJ Petit

Dylan Smith

Jace Jung

June is the Tigers’ fourth-ranked prospect in their system and the 67th overall-ranked prospect in all of baseball. He has a slashline of .229/.438/.371 with a .809 OPS; he has two doubles, one home run, eight RBI, eight runs scored, four stolen bases, and 12 walks. He spent the 2023 regular season with High-A West Michigan and Double-A Erie.

Hao-Yu Lee

The Tigers acquired Lee at the trade deadline and is ranked eighth in their system. He has a slash line of .269/.394/.385 with a .779 OPS; he has one home run, six RBI, six runs scored, and six walks. He played in 2023 with the Tigers in High-A West Michigan.

Justice Bigbie

Bigbie is the Tigers’ 21st-ranked prospect in their system, and in 14 games, Bigbie has a slash line of .308/.410/.365 with a .775 OPS; he has three doubles, eight RBI, eight runs scored, one stolen base, and nine walks. He played in 2023 across three levels: High-A West Michigan, Double-A Erie, and Triple-A Toledo.
