The Detroit Tigers minor league affiliates are wrapping up their seasons with Triple-A Toledo ending their season on Sunday, they will not make the postseason. Double-A Erie is currently in their postseason run. High-A West Michigan missed the playoffs finishing 68-63. Single-A Lakeland made the playoffs and advanced to the championship in the Florida State League but lost the best of three series in three games as the Palm Beach Cardinals won the championship. With the season coming to an end awards are being named for each league and in High-A in the Midwest League a Tigers prospect was named pitcher of the year. Jaden Hamm who is the Tigers’ ninth-ranked prospect by ITD, and seventh-ranked Tigers prospect by MLB Pipeline took home the award; he was also the only Tigers prospect named to the Midwest League 2024 All-Star Team. He spent the whole season at West Michigan making 24 appearances with 23 of those coming as starts going 5-4 with a 2.64 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP, and 122 strikeouts in 99 innings.
Jaden Hamm Career
The Tigers drafted Hamm in the fifth round of the 2023 MLB Draft out of Middle Tennessee State. In his three seasons at Middle Tennessee, he made 41 appearances with 19 of those coming as starts going 11-7 with a 4.56 ERA, a 1.41 WHIP, a 4.3 BB/9, and a 10.0 K/9 in 150 innings. In his first season in the Tigers system, he pitched for their rookie team and Single-A Lakeland making five starts, he didn’t record a decision, had a 0.00 ERA gave up one unearned run, had a 0.33 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts in 12 innings.
