Detroit Tigers Linked to All-Star Shortstop

Detroit Tigers Linked to All-Star Shortstop

The Detroit Tigers currently own the best record in baseball as they enter play tonight 40-21. Today Jeff Passan released his early 2025 MLB trade deadline preview. The name to watch for Detroit is Bo Bichette from the Toronto Blue Jays. Bichette is a free agent following this season which may make the return less than normal. The Tigers currently have Trey Sweeney as their shortstop with Javier Baez currently finding success at third base and the outfield. Bichette this season in 59 games is hitting .277 with a .754 OPS. He has 17 doubles, seven home runs, 32 RBI, 26 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 16 walks. It’ll be interesting if he’s available with the Blue Jays potentially in the playoff race as they sit in second place in the American League East. If they falter Bichette would be a nice fit with Detroit.
