The Detroit Tigers Triple-A affiliate in Toledo finished August going 14-13 and outscored their opponent 128-125. Double-A Erie went 13-13 in August and outscored their opponents 139-124. High-A West Michigan went 15-12 and they outscored their opponent 136-99. Single-A Lakeland finished the month 16-11 and outscored their opponents 121-107.

Detroit Tigers Top 10 Prospects Check-In

OF – Max Clark – West Michigan Whitecaps

Clark in August hit .241 with a .785 OPS; he had six doubles, two triples, two home runs, 12 RBI, ten runs scored, ten walks, and three stolen bases. This season between two levels he’s hitting .278 with a 1.176 OPS; he has nine home runs, 75 RBI, 72 runs scored, and 29 stolen bases.

RHP – Jackson Jobe – Erie SeaWolves

Jobe made six starts in August going 1-1 with a 2.86 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and 23 strikeouts in 28.1 innings. This season at Erie he’s made 15 starts going 3-2 with a 2.03 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and 73 strikeouts in 66.2 innings.

2B – Jace Jung – Toledo Mud Hens/Detroit Tigers

Jung in August got his big league call up hitting .239 with a .648 OPS; he had five doubles, ten RBI, 12 runs scored, 17 walks, and one stolen base.

INF – Kevin McGonigle – West Michigan Whitecaps

McGonigle hit .278 with a .996 OPS; he had a triple, one home run, three RBI, six runs scored, five walks, and two stolen bases. This season he’s hitting .309 with a .853 OPS; he has five home runs, 44 RBI, and 49 runs scored.

C/1B – Thayron Liranzo – West Michigan Whitecaps

Liranzo in August hit .362 with a 1.144 OPS; he had seven doubles, four home runs, 16 RBI, 16 runs scored, and 20 walks. Since joining the Tigers he’s hitting .342 with a 1.087 OPS.

RHP – Wilmer Flores – Lakeland Flying Tigers/West Michigan Whitecaps

Flores returned in August making four appearances between the two levels and two of those were starts posting a 4.76 ERA, a 1.41 WHIP, and six strikeouts in 5.2 innings. This season in 18 appearances he is 2-2 with a 7.14 ERA, a 1.83 WHIP, and 25 strikeouts in 29.0 innings.

RHP – Ty Madden – Toledo Mud Hens/Detroit Tigers

Madden in August made his big league debut between Triple-A and the majors he made five starts going 1-1 with a 4.97 ERA, a 1.38 WHIP, and 39 strikeouts in 29 innings.

C – Dillon Dingler – Detroit Tigers

Dingler in August with Detroit hit .135 with a .420 OPS; he had two doubles, a triple, a home run, five RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. This season at Detroit he is hitting .138 with a .443 OPS; he has one home run, six RBI, and two runs scored.

RHP – Keider Montero – Detroit Tigers

Montero in August made six starts going 3-2 with a 3.82 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, and 27 strikeouts in 33 innings. This season at Detroit in 13 appearances and 12 starts he is 4-6 with a 5.17 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and 58 strikeouts in 69.2 innings.

RHP – Troy Melton – Erie SeaWolves

Melton made four starts in August going 1-3 with an 8.14 ERA, a 1.52 WHIP, and 29 strikeouts in 21.0 innings. This season he’s made 23 starts going 7-8 with a 5.10 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, and 119 strikeouts in 100.2 innings.

Month Ahead:

Toledo Mud Hens (62-68)

In September the Tigers Triple-A affiliate will take on the Worcester Red Sox, the affiliate of the Boston Red Sox for one game, then the Indianapolis Indians the Pirates affiliate, followed by the Omaha Storm Chasers the Royals affiliate, and ending their season at home against the Columbus Clippers.

Erie SeaWolves (69-53)

In September the Tigers Double-A affiliate will take on the Richmond Flying Squirrels the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants for one game then the Reading Fightin Phils, before wrapping up their regular season against the Orioles Double-A affiliate the Bowie Baysox before they play their first-round matchup, the opponent isn’t determined yet.

West Michigan Whitecaps (63-61)

In September the Tigers High-A affiliate will take on the Dayton Dragons the High-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds for one game before wrapping up their season at home against the A’s affiliate the Lansing Lugnuts.

Lakeland Flying Tigers (76-47)

In September the Tigers Single-A affiliate will take on the Toronto Blue Jays Single-A affiliate the Dunedin Blue Jays for one game before they wrap up their regular season against the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels the affiliate of the Twins.
