Jose Trevino

Jose Trevino has signed a two-year 11.5 million dollar contract to keep him with the Cincinnati Reds through the 2027 season. The Veteran Catcher joined the team during the off-season. He was part of a trade with the New York Yankees. In exchange, Fernando Cruz and Alex Jackson were traded. Jose Trevino is a solid defensive catcher, but offensively not a great bat. Last year with the Yankees he had a .215 batting average and a slash line of .288/.354/.642.

Lyon Richardson

The Cincinnati Reds have optioned Richardson to Triple-A today to start his year off pitching for the Louisville Bats. Richardson has appeared in eight games so far this spring for the Reds. In those eight games, he has worked a total of nine innings. He leaves training camp with a 2.00 ERA, nine strikeouts, and a 1.33 WHIP. Last season he spent most of his time in the minors. He made 19 starts in Triple-A. These were out of 25 total appearances. He only recorded one win and lost seven games. He had a 4.67 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP with Louisville last year.
