Cincinnati Reds Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Cincinnati Reds have been active today before their series opener with the Astros. Announcing six roster moves ahead of the game tonight. The Reds have shipped two down to Louisville. They have recalled two. They swapped a player from the injured list to the roster today. The Reds will look to bounce back tonight after a tough loss last night in extra innings against the Braves.

Hunter Greene

The Reds have placed Hunter Greene on the 15-day injured list retroactive to May 8th. Greene will be out for a bit with his groin injury suffered during his last start against the Braves. He has a 4-2 record this year in eight starts. Greene has a 2.36 ERA and 61 strikeouts this year. Hopefully, he can bounce back quickly and return to the rotation.

Austin Hays

The Cincinnati Reds have activated Austin Hays from the 10-day injured list. Hays returns from a hamstring injury and will look to bounce back to early season form. He has five home runs and 13 RBI in just 13 games this year for the Reds.

Will Benson

The Reds have recalled Will Benson from Triple-A today ahead of their game against the Astros. Benson returns to the Reds after only playing in one game in his last call-up. He struck out four times in that game on April 9th against the Giants. With Louisville, he has a .289 batting average with seven home runs, and 29 RBI on the year.

Chase Petty

The Reds have recalled Chase Petty from Triple-A ahead of their first game of three with the Astros. Petty returns to the Reds after the Hunter Greene injury. He will look to bounce back after a rough outing against the Cardinals on April 30th. In that game, he gave up seven hits, nine runs, two walks, and struck out three in just 2.1 innings pitched.

Blake Dunn

The Reds have optioned Blake Dunn back to Triple-A today. Dunn has played in 30 games this year for the Reds. He has a .150 batting average and a .553 OPS this year. Dunn has two doubles, one home run, and seven RBI while with the Reds. He will continue the year in Triple-A.

Jacob Hurtubise

Cincinnati has optioned Jacob Hurtubise back to Triple-A today ahead of game one with the Astros. He has played in 12 games for the Reds this year with a .083 batting average and a .350 OPS. Hurtubise has one hit and six strikeouts while with the Reds. He will continue his 2025 season with the Louisville Bats.
