Cincinnati Reds Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Cincinnati Reds lost 7-4 to the Texas Rangers yesterday during Cactus League play. They play the Kansas City Royals today, but before the game, the Reds made some assignments and one Free Agent signing. The team continues to shape up their roster as we inch closer and closer to opening day!!

3B – Nicholas Northcutt

Northcutt was assigned to the Reds roster today before the game with the Royals. Last season Northcutt split time between double-A Charlotte in the Southern League and Triple-A Lousiville. During last season in the minors, Northcutt played in 75 games, with 14 doubles, 10 home runs, and 39 RBIs. He slashed .209/.258/.373 last year in the minors.

SS – Trey Faltine

Faltine played all last year in the A+ level Daytona playing in 64 games last year. In those 64 games, he slashed .103/.231/.241 with an OPS of .412 over 155 at-bats.

LHP – Justin Wilson

Wilson was a free agent signing by the Reds today, Wilson had appeared in four games this spring with the Los Angeles Dodgers with 4 innings pitched finishing with a 4.50 ERA. Wilson will be a left-handed arm out of the Reds bullpen this season. Wilson last pitched in the majors in 2022 for the Reds but only worked 3.2 innings with one loss, seven strikeouts, and an ERA of 2.45. Wilson will have two weeks to see if he can make the opening-day roster for the Reds.
